You've been warned your whole skincare life that oil cleansers will clog your pores — so you've been using foaming cleansers that strip your skin, leave it tight and dry, and somehow your pores are still congested and your breakouts haven't cleared.
The warning was never really about oil. It was about the wrong oil — comedogenic, heavy, or poorly emulsifying formulas that did leave residue behind. The right cleansing oil — non-comedogenic certified, built on lightweight plant-based oils, and formulated with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial botanical actives — does the opposite: it dissolves the sebum and oil-based debris inside the pore more completely than any foaming cleanser can, emulsifies completely with water leaving zero residue, and leaves acne-prone and sensitive skin calmer after cleansing than before.
ANUA's Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil is the viral K-Beauty proof of this — and at 200ml, it's built to become a permanent first step in your double cleanse routine.
ANUA Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing OilThe First-Cleanse Essential for Acne-Prone, Oily, and Sensitive Skin.
Formulated with Heartleaf Extract at 10,000ppm Quercetinol concentration, a comprehensive six-oil plant-based cleansing base of Sunflower Seed Oil, Macadamia Oil, Olive Fruit Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Grapeseed Oil, and Moringa Oil, a Neem Triple Complex (Melia Azadirachta Flower, Leaf, and Bark Extracts), Turmeric Root Extract, Corallina Officinalis (Red Algae) Extract, Tocopherol, and Ocimum Sanctum (Holy Basil) Leaf Extract — this cleansing oil removes all makeup, SPF, sebum, and oil-based impurities completely, emulsifies cleanly with water leaving no greasy residue, and actively soothes and protects the skin during the cleanse itself.
Non-comedogenic certified. Safe for acne-prone and sensitive skin. Free from denatured alcohols, parabens, artificial colour, sulphates, and preservative irritants.
Note: This formula contains fragrance. Those with fragrance sensitivity should patch test before use or consider the Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil Mild variant.
How To Use
Step 1 — Dispense onto Dry Hands Pump 2–3 pumps of the cleansing oil onto completely dry palms. Dry hands are essential — water introduced at this stage prevents the oil from making direct contact with oil-based impurities.
Step 2 — Massage onto Dry Face Apply to a completely dry face and massage gently in circular motions for 1–2 minutes. Focus extra attention on congestion-prone areas — nose, chin, forehead. The massage dissolves makeup, SPF, and sebum; you may notice sebaceous filaments becoming visible on the fingertips as they are dislodged from the pores — this is the cleanse working as intended.
Step 3 — Emulsify with Water Wet the fingertips with a small amount of water and continue massaging. The oil will immediately transform into a milky white emulsion — the visual confirmation that emulsification is complete and the dissolved impurities are being lifted for rinsing.
Step 4 — Rinse Thoroughly Rinse completely with lukewarm water until all product is removed. Avoid hot water — it strips the natural lipid barrier that this formula is working to preserve.
Step 5 — Follow with Second Cleanse For complete double cleansing, follow with the ANUA Heartleaf Quercetinol Pore Deep Cleansing Foam as the second cleanse — removing any remaining water-based impurities and delivering BHA pore-clearing and additional Heartleaf soothing activity as the daily cleansing routine is completed.
Key Benefits
Non-Comedogenic Certified — Safe for Acne-Prone Skin The non-comedogenic certification is the direct answer to every concern about using an oil cleanser on breakout-prone skin. Independently tested to not clog pores, this formula is built on the lightest, most skin-compatible plant oils available — not the heavy, pore-blocking oils that gave oil cleansers their reputation. The certification means what it says: this oil will not cause breakouts.
Heartleaf at 10,000ppm — Cleanses and Soothes Simultaneously The anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity of Heartleaf Extract at 10,000ppm Quercetinol concentration means this cleansing oil doesn't just remove the triggers of inflammation — it actively counteracts the inflammatory response during the cleanse itself. For acne-prone and reactive UK skin that is already inflamed, a cleanser that reduces inflammation rather than adding to it is a genuinely different experience from anything in the conventional cleanser category.
Six Plant Oils — Each Chosen for Pore Compatibility Every oil in this formula is either non-comedogenic, sebum-regulating, or both — Jojoba's sebum-mimicking structure, Macadamia's oil-balancing properties, Grapeseed's lightweight non-comedogenic base, Moringa's purity. This is not a generic oil blend — it is a carefully selected group of plant oils chosen specifically for their compatibility with oily, congested, and acne-prone skin.
Neem Triple Complex — The Antimicrobial Botanical Stack The inclusion of all three Neem plant extracts (flower, leaf, bark) alongside Turmeric, Holy Basil, and Heartleaf creates an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory botanical stack that is significantly more comprehensive than the single botanical used in most competitor cleansing oils. For skin where bacterial acne and congestion are persistent concerns, this depth of antibacterial activity during the first cleanse step makes a meaningful difference to long-term skin clarity.
Emulsifies Completely — No Residue, No Grease The formula's emulsification system (Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate + Sorbitan Sesquioleate) transforms the oil into a milky, water-miscible consistency the moment water is introduced — rinsing completely clean without any oily film, tackiness, or need for a flannel to remove excess. Complete emulsification is the functional requirement of any cleansing oil used on acne-prone skin — residue left behind defeats the purpose of an antimicrobial botanical formula entirely.
200ml — Built for Daily Double Cleansing Commitment At 200ml, this is the size that says daily double cleansing is the intention — not an occasional treatment. For a product used morning and evening as the foundation of an effective K-Beauty routine, the 200ml format provides approximately 2–3 months of consistent daily use and represents significant value compared to smaller cleansing oil formats.
Skin Type
All skin types. Especially beneficial for oily, combination, acne-prone, and congestion-prone skin.
Q: Will a cleansing oil make my acne worse? A: No — this is non-comedogenic certified and built on lightweight plant oils proven not to clog pores.
Q: Does this remove waterproof SPF and heavy makeup? A: Yes — oil dissolves all oil-based products including waterproof SPF and long-wear foundation completely.
Q: Why do I need to apply this to dry skin? A: Water prevents the oil from contacting oil-based impurities — dry application is essential for effective cleansing.
Q: What is the white emulsion I see when I add water? A: That's the emulsification process — the oil turning water-miscible and lifting dissolved impurities for rinsing.

Q: Is this suitable for sensitive skin? A: Yes — though it contains fragrance; those with fragrance sensitivity should patch test or choose the Mild variant.
